I am Razvan and as a senior physiotherapist at Medxphysio, I bring over 9 years of experience across both private and NHS settings. My passion lies in empowering individuals to overcome physical challenges and achieve their optimal well-being.
Through personalised care and a collaborative approach, I help patients manage various conditions, including congenital, spinal and paediatric disorders. I'm also skilled in various physiotherapy techniques such as manipulation, mobilisation, manual stretches, trigger points pressure or physio taping.
My journey to physiotherapy wasn't the typical one. I once dreamed of playing football professionally, pushing myself to the limit on the pitch. But an unlucky accident and a meniscus tear side-lined me. The following recovery process, filled with physiotherapy sessions, showed me the value of this profession. I knew I wanted to be part of that journey for others, helping them overcome limitations and reclaim their physical potential.
My journey into physiotherapy began at the prestigious ”Grigore Alexandrescu” Emergency Hospital for Children in Bucharest, where I interned in the Recovery, Physiotherapy and Balneotherapy Laboratory.
This experience provided a strong foundation in treating a wide range of conditions.
I've found deep fulfilment specialising in paediatrics at the Daily Centre for Children with Disabilities at Caritas Association, Bucharest.
This experience has taught me a lot. I now understand childhood development well. I also know the challenges faced by children with disabilities.
To further develop my skills, I began working at a local medical centre.
This experience allowed me to improve my skills in many physiotherapy techniques. It prepared me to meet the unique needs of both adults and children.
Upon arriving in the UK, I became a specialist in neurological physiotherapy.
I treated patients with many complex physical, sensory, and cognitive problems, such as Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI).
Committed to continuous improvement, I became a First Contact Physiotherapist at an NHS GP Practice.
This role honed my skills. I learned to assess, initially diagnose, help with the appropriate home treatment plan, or refer to the appropriate specialist for further investigation of many musculoskeletal conditions.
I received a new opportunity in the field and transitioned into community therapy team at Queen Victoria Hospital. There, I worked with elderly patients in their homes and individuals with disabilities in the community.
Helping them improve mobility, independence, and well-being was very rewarding.
Years of experience have taught me this: the body's capacity to heal and adapt is remarkable. But, the resilience of my patients is what truly inspires me.
Outside the world of physiotherapy, I'm a self-proclaimed tech enthusiast. I love staying up-to-date on the latest advancements and exploring how technology can further enhance our lives.
This passion for tech even spills over into my love for automobiles. I am fascinated by the complex mechanics and advanced engineering in a well-crafted vehicle.
And of course, no bio would be complete without a nod to the beautiful game – football! My loyalty to this sport remains unwavering.
